Biography
José M. Ryb is an Argentine lawyer, graduated from the University of Buenos Aires. Before joining PBX International Law, José worked at the Argentine Treasury Attorney General’s Office, where he was part of the legal team that defended the Argentine Republic in international arbitrations and disputes.
José participated in more than 10 international arbitration proceedings related to foreign investments and gained experience in complex commercial litigation as well as in sovereign debt litigation before U.S. courts. Additionally, he served as counsel in the negotiation of several international treaties containing investment provisions.
José worked as a research assistant on matters related to the independence of judges and lawyers for Ms. Monica Pinto, United Nations Special Rapporteur from 2015 to 2016.
In the academic field, José has been teaching at the University of Buenos Aires Law School from 2013 to 2024, and he coached the UBA team in the 2019 Inter-American Human Rights Moot Competition. His main areas of research and teaching are International Economic Law and International Human Rights Law.
