PBX International Law Sponsors the 2026 Latin American Arbitration Conference (CLA)
The 2026 Latin American Arbitration Conference (CLA) once again confirmed its position as the leading arbitration event in Latin America. Held over four days at the Faculty of Law of the University of Buenos Aires (UBA), the conference brought together more than 78 speakers and representatives from 119 organizations across 13 countries, including arbitral institutions, international organizations, companies, arbitrators, academics, judges, consultants, young practitioners, and students to discuss some of the most pressing issues in international arbitration.
The academic program featured keynote lectures, eight plenary panels, and a wide range of specialized events addressing current developments in the field. These included CLA-40 on Artificial Intelligence and Arbitration, CLAustro, dedicated to confidentiality in international commercial arbitration, the Seminar on Investment Contracts and Arbitration, organized in collaboration with UNIDROIT, the ICC Institute, ALARB, and ICC Argentina, as well as the roundtable “ICSID Arbitrations in Latin America: Experiences, Challenges and Perspectives,” organized in cooperation with Young ICSID.
As part of the conference’s academic program, the Young ICSID roundtable on ICSID arbitrations in Latin America was co-organized by Nicolás E. Bianchi, Partner at PBX International Law and Young ICSID Regional Delegate for South America. The discussion featured distinguished practitioners, including Dr. Krystle Baptista Serna, Antolín Fernández Antuña, Daniela Páez-Salgado, and Sofía Klot, who explored recent developments, current challenges, and future perspectives for investment arbitration in the region.
PBX International Law was also represented by Pablo Parrilla, Partner, who participated as a speaker alongside Piero Fortino of Brattle Group in a panel addressing the assessment of damages in contract-based investment arbitration, one of the most significant and technically sophisticated issues in contemporary international investment disputes.
